Olympic View Golf Club, Victoria, BC

I have a friend that worked at Olympic View Golf Club as a kid and said it was a great place to be. Now I see part of the reason the 17th hole is the signature hole at Olympic View and looks Great!

This hole is the most photographed hole on the course because of its Japanese garden and majestic 60-foot waterfall directly behind the green. A tee shot down the middle will put you in ideal position to go for the pin on your second shot. If you are going to miss, miss your shot to the right because a water hazard guards the left.

Tobiano Golf, Kamloops BC

Now this is a great piece land for a golf course. Seems that Tobiano Golf is getting a lot of buzz out west and after looking at some of the picks you can see why.

Favour the right centre of the fairway of this deceptively reachable par 5. Make a decision to either clear the natural hazard or lay up. Short approach shots should land softly on the firm plateau of the green.

Considered one of the most memorable holes; this island green par 3 has been rated one of the toughest in the province. A steep crown has caused many shots to roll back into the water.
How the Pro's Play the Hole Into the wind, this long carry over water will require all of a 4 or 5-iron, or a 7 with the wind.

I have played a few courses that have a 19th hole, which is great for tie breakers or just for a friendly beverage wager on the way in! I have never seen a 19th hole that looks like this.

If you have played Big Sky let me know what you thought of it because it looks like one of the more scenic courses in Canada. See the whole course "hole by hole" HERE.

What they have to say;
Number 15 is a short dogleg left and requires careful club selection. Use a fairway wood from the tee and a short iron approach. The 2-tiered green is shallow from front to back; you could easily find yourself facing a demanding 2-putt to save par.

Aim to the left side. Fairway slopes right.

Now this is a par 3! They recommend taking 1 less club, I recommend not getting lost in the scenery Wow!! Par 3 plays 142-200 yards "mostly carry".

The blue, white, and black tees all require at least one club less and consider the swirling winds from the Toby Creek Valley. Favour the right side as the vertical rock cliffs guard the front, back, and left.

BC must have some of the best views in the world. This is demonstrated by the beauty and challenge of this par 3, #12 at Chilliwack Golf & CC.

This breathtaking par 3 has become the signature hole for golf in British Columbia’s magnificent Fraser Valley. With the majestic coastal mountains in the background, one can easily forget the daunting task at hand.

Mcgillvery Creek, which runs the entire length of the hole, curves dangerously close to the entire right half of the green where it is bordered by a pleasing natural rock wall.

The green is shallow, particularly on the right side and will accept only a well struck shot.
Players are faced with the option of playing safe to the left side or attacking a right side hole placement by carrying the water.
Players will be relieved to score par, or even bogey, on this exciting hole.

Just WOW! I thought this was a good place to start this blog of great Canadian golf holes. #14 is the signature hole at Big Sky and you can see why.

As you step up to the tee, look up at the incredible sights of Big Sky's signature hole. Mr. Currie rises in the distance, surrounded by clouds that get caught in the adjacent mountain tops. The setting encourages you to pull out the big dog and let it fly…your drive will look like it has been suspended in mid-air. With water left and multiple bunkers protecting the green you'll need to hit a good approach shot to score well!
