Humber Valley Resort-Newfoundland Golf
I came across a link to Humber Valley while reading Robert Thompson's blog, he is heading out to Newfoundland to see this course and after seeing the pics is he lucky! Check out his blog, a good daily read for Canadian golfers.
Humber Valley Resort-River #6
What they have to say:
The Sixth
Back into the wind. A gentle dogleg with bunkers in the elbow give you an opportunity to cut the corner to reduce the length of a very long second. The green is fairly flat and large, but it needs to be as most players will be using a long iron or fairway wood for their approach. Par is an excellent score here.
Humber Valley Resort River #10
What they have to say:
The Tenth
Par four. Dramatic tee shot into the teeth of the wind played from a pulpit 180 ft above the fairway. The fairway is wide but once on it, one's second is long played across and through a large swale. Bunkers, short and left of the green catch any ball struck less than perfectly. The green is highly contoured with a small and very raised platform back right that is very tough to get to if the greenkeeper has had a bad morning! No guarantees of two putts on this green. Ranked toughest on the back nine, this hole deserves its reputation. Par is an excellent score here.

Forest City National #13 - London Golf
Forest City National Golf Club #13
I could have pick almost any hole at Forest City National Golf Club in London, Ontario but good par 3 holes always grab my attention. This par 3 #13 plays over 200 yards from the tips and has the added mental pressure for most golfers of water between the tee and green.
Great public golf course.
What they have to say:
Use a long to midiron. Beware of thesteep fall off to theleft and behind the green. The right sideof the green fallshard to the right.Par is a very goodscore here.

Highlands Links Ingonish Beach, Cape Breton
Highlands Links #15 - Cape Breton Golf
What they have to say;
Tattie Bogle, 540 yards, Par 5 During construction, workers were instructed to pile field stone in the fairway and cover them in a similar way to which potatoes were placed in mounds and covered with thatch in Scotland. Thompson also stated, “This was suggested by the number of potato fields that one could see in this neighbourhood."
As alluded to in the 7th hole description, this hole downwind offers a thrilling chance to get home in two. To do so, the golfer must flirt with the forest and the shoulder of a hillock on the left but if he can carry the ball 260 yards, his tee ball will catch the back slope of the hillock and be propelled within 220 yards of the green. In addition, he is likely to draw a level stance. Thus, the actual playing of the 15th is every bit as spectacular as the view of Whale Island in the distance.

The Raven at Lora Bay Hole #2
Host course of this year's Telus Skins game, this course is sure to please.
The 2nd hole plays under 400 yards from the tips but is well protected with water all down the left side and the fairway is mounded and tee shots can should watch for a bunker that guards the right side for big hitter. Ames(T10th @ +11), Daly(DNQ), Ogilvy(T42nd @ +19), Goosen(M/C) and Monty(M/C) should have fun following the torture of this past weekend's US Open at Oakmont.

Morgan Creek Golf Club #15
Morgan Creek Golf Club #15 - BC Golf
What they have to say;
One of Morgan Creek's "Signature holes". Favor your tee shot to the right center of the fairway. The key feature of this hole is the stream angling in front of the green, forcing the player to lay-up or go for it. Trouble awaits approach shots to the right of the green.

Nicklaus North #12 - BC Golf
Nicklaus North Golf Club #12-Whistler Golf
Put mountains in the background and you got me! We don't have that in Ontario.
What they have to say:
Hole 12 at Nicklaus North Golf Course
Considered one of the most memorable holes; this island green par 3 has been rated one of the toughest in the province. A steep crown has caused many shots to roll back into the water.
BC Golf Hole
Furry Creek #14 - BC Golf
I don't know what the rest of the course is like but if it is half as good as 14 looks! This is my first round on my next trip west! It's so good you need 2 views!!
Hole 14 at Furry Creek Golf & Country Club
"Tee to Sea" Club selection is a key when playing British Columbia's Signature Golf Hole. Add or subtract a club depending on the wind. The safe shot is to the right of the green where a chip and putt should score you a par.

Andersons Creek #4-PEI Golf
Andersons Creek Signature - Hole #4
Looks a lot like a famous hole in Georgia?
What they have to say:
The signature hole, trouble lurks all around this green. Andersons creek and a well placed bunker guard the front of green and with swirling winds club selection is crucial.
PEI Golf Hole
Taboo Resort #7-Muskoka Golf
Yardage on this uphill par 3 ranges from 164 - 218, it's no gimme!
Whistler Golf Club #16

Bigwin Island Golf Club-Muskoka Golf
Bigwin Island Golf Club #6
This is the hole that everyone that has played Bigwin talks about. My one opportunity to play this Muskoka golf course was rained out but I intend to get there very soon.
What they have to say:
Without a doubt the most spectacular view on the course is from the back tee on the 6th hole. To the east lies the breathtaking view over the treetops of the 6th fairway to a cluster of islands rising out of the lake. To the west, through the trees, lies a glimpse of the clubhouse with its elegant reflection shimmering in the quiet waters of the protected bay. The tee shot provides a lot of hang time on this 462 yard par four, as the ball plummets to the fairway over 100 feet below. Two bunkers on the left frame the fairway and provide a frame of reference for the target area. The optimum angle into the large undulating green is from the left side. A deep treacherous bunker guards the right side and a gentle grass depression flanks the left. The 6th hole looks ominous on the scorecard, but should play much shorter than the yardage indicates.
Ontario Golf Holes
Don Valley Golf Course- Toronto
Don Valley Golf Course #12- The Signature
I have a soft spot for Don Valley Golf Course and this is their signature hole, the par 5 12th. This relatively short par 5 is made more difficult by the large pond that protects about 3/4 of the green for those wanting to get home in 2! It's hard to believe that you are in the heart of Toronto, at Yonge St. and Hwy 401. One of the busiest golf courses in Canada is still one of the most fun to play.
What they have to say:
Lush Vegetation and a rolling landscape present an exciting natural setting for Don Valley Golf Course. It's classic Howard Watson design has a traditional variety of holes and a legendary reputation for its exciting natural setting. Hallelujah Corner includes the signature par 5 12 th hole followed by an outstanding par 3 challenge, providing breathtaking scenery and spectacular golfing.
Ontario Golf Holes
Black Diamond Golf Club
Black Diamond Golf Club
Near the Kawarthas, Black Diamond Golf Club offers a nice retreat from city golf. In Pontypool, Ontario less than an hour from Toronto.
What they have to say:
Aqua Blue#11. Can you say signature hole? This exquisite par 4 is absolutely amazing and belongs on a postcard. One of the first things you will notice while standing on the elevated tee is the breath taking aqua blue pond, giving its colour due to the natural calcium deposits in the water. Once you have appreciated the beauty of this hole, you must focus on the task at hand, landing your ball on the fairway framed in by bunkers, mounding and fescue. Club selection is important when choosing your line over the pond.

Copper Creek Golf Club #10
PEI Golf-Eagles View Golf Course #7
Eagles View Golf Course, PEI
That is a pond, what a unique property on the island!
What they have to say:
Eagles View is not only a championship golf course but its picturesque beauty is breathtaking. The golf course is sculpted on both sides of the MacLures Pond, which is PEI’s largest fresh water pond. A 1,000 ft. bridge connects the course.

Dinosaur Trail Golf & CC #17
Coulees and badlands? In Canada?
Chilliwack Golf & Country Club #12
BC must have some of the best views in the world. This is demonstrated by the beauty and challenge of this par 3, #12 at Chilliwack Golf & CC.
What they have to say:
Players are faced with the option of playing safe to the left side or attacking a right side hole placement by carrying the water.
Players will be relieved to score par, or even bogey, on this exciting hole.
Big Sky #14
Just WOW! I thought this was a good place to start this blog of great Canadian golf holes. #14 is the signature hole at Big Sky and you can see why.
What they have to say:
Hang Time
As you step up to the tee, look up at the incredible sights of Big Sky's signature hole. Mr. Currie rises in the distance, surrounded by clouds that get caught in the adjacent mountain tops. The setting encourages you to pull out the big dog and let it fly…your drive will look like it has been suspended in mid-air. With water left and multiple bunkers protecting the green you'll need to hit a good approach shot to score well!
